Twisting The Scriptures

Many will twist the Scriptures to justify their sins. In this Sermon you will see how these misguided people do this. They are misguided by satan and satan has blinded them to the truth. Its ashame that they are so blind that they cannot see what lies ahead for them. They use Jesus Christ sacrifice as an excuse to sin. They believe once they are saved that they can commit any sin they wish and still they will be saved. This is not so. If someone is truly repentant they will feel great grief for their sins. In repentance you will want only to serve THE LORD BY OBEYING HIS EVERY COMMANDMENT!!. Not OH Im Saved So I Can Sin All I Want And Still Go To Heaven. That is far from the truth. God will never allow it and Jesus will turn His face from you. So if your truly saved you will do everything in your power to stay far from sin. You may fall short, we all do, But if its not intentional then theres asking for forgiveness and trying your best not to do this sin again. (2 Peter 3:14-18)13 But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. 14 Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless, 15 and regard the patience of our Lord to be salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, 16 as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. 17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard lest, being carried away by the error of unprincipled men, you fall from your own steadfastness, 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. What We Should Know About Scripture Twisters From Peter’s warnings in his epistles and what we are told elsewhere in Scripture, we can summarize what we should know about Scripture twisters: (1) We should expect Scripture twisters to arise within the church. We can expect to arise from within the church those who will twist the meaning of Scriptures as they interpret, apply, and teach the Bible. Peter warns us concerning false teachers in chapter 2, verse 1. Paul warns of the same danger in Acts 20:30. False teachers will arise from among the saints, twisting the truths of God’s Word and thus leading some astray. (2) We should also know the most likely areas for error to be introduced. Peter informs us that Scripture twisters deny a coming day of judgment (3:1-4), even though their judgment is sure (2:1, 3, 9, 12, 17). It would seem from 2 Peter 2:1 that Scripture twisters twist the Scriptures concerning the person and the work of Jesus Christ in that they “deny the Master who bought them.” In addition, Scripture twisters undermine the Biblical teaching on holy living (2 Peter 2:2; contrast 3:11, 14). (3) Those who twist Scripture will twist any or all of the Bible, but they will often base their teachings on an obscure or problematic text. Peter acknowledges that some of Paul’s writings are “difficult to understand” (verse 16). These seem to be the starting point for the truth twisters. They begin with a problematic passage, developing their unorthodox doctrines, and then turn to the clear, emphatic texts, denying what they dogmatically teach. False teachers do not stop with Paul’s writings but distort the Scriptures as a whole. Problem passages written by Paul are only the tip of the iceberg. These perverters of Scripture do not stop here; they are not content unless they have twisted “the rest of the Scriptures” as well. Since the Scriptures agree, then one who sets aside the teaching of one author must, to be consistent, set aside other texts as well. (4) Those who twist Scripture are described by Peter as “untaught and unstable.” The term “untaught” is rendered “ignorant” by the translators of the King James Version. The two terms “untaught” and “unstable” are introduced by a common article. This seems to indicate these two terms are to be viewed as interrelated. Like “love and marriage,” these terms go together “like a horse and carriage.” In other words, those who are “untaught” are “unstable,” and those who are “unstable” are also “untaught.” In the Book of Ephesians, Paul emphasizes the other side of Peter’s words. Paul indicates the one who is stable is the one well-taught in the Scriptures. Both James and Peter make closely related statements: 11 And He gave some [as] apostles, and some [as] prophets, and some [as] evangelists, and some [as] pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fulness of Christ. 14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves, and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; 15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all [aspects] into Him, who is the head, [even] Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by that which every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. 17 This I say therefore, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind, (Ephesians 4:11-17). 5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, 8 [being] a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways (James 1:5-8). 8 For if these [qualities] are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these [qualities] is blind [or] short-sighted, having forgotten [his] purification from his former sins. 10 Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; 11 for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you. (2 Peter 1:8-11). (5) Scripture twisters have ulterior motives which are far from pure. The teachings of the Scripture twisters is self-serving and often rooted in greed and the desire for monetary gain (Titus 1:11; Jude 11, 16; contrast Acts 20:33; 1 Thessalonians 2:5-6; 1 Timothy 3:3; 6:3-5). For some, their twisted teaching is rooted in the ambition to have a personal following (Acts 20:30). Then there are those who twist Scripture to indulge their fleshly lusts (Titus 1:10-16; 2 Peter 2:10-22; Jude 18). Their approach to Scripture is not at all like that of David: 17 Deal bountifully with Thy servant, That I may live and keep Thy word. 18 Open my eyes, that I may behold Wonderful things from Thy law (Psalms 119:17-18). Instead, they are “following after their own lusts” (2:3). They exploit their victims out of greed (2:3) and not out of a genuine love and concern (see 2 Peter 1:12-15; 1 Thessalonians 2:3-12). (6) The appeal of Scripture twisters is in providing a pretext for self-indulgence and sin for their followers, as well as themselves. They entice those who are immature and vulnerable (2 Peter 2:14, 18; see 2 Timothy 3:6-7). While teachers of biblical truth call for the saints to “abstain from fleshly lusts” (Romans 13:14; Galatians 5:16, 24; 1 Peter 2:11), Scripture twisters assure men Christians can indulge the flesh (Jude 4) with no consequences. (7) Those who twist Scripture may include both teachers (Romans 1:18-32; 2 Timothy 3:8, 13) and their pupils (verse 16; 2 Timothy 3:6-7; 2 Peter 2:14). While the context of chapters 2 and 3 is false teachers, Peter’s words in verse 16 should not be restricted only to false teachers but to any who are “untaught” and “unstable,” who wish to justify their ungodly conduct. (8) Those who twist Scripture do so to their own destruction (verse 16; see also John 5:39; Acts 5:20; Romans 2:7-8; Philippians 2:16; contrast 1 Timothy 4:16). It is little wonder that Scripture twisters deny the second coming of our Lord and the judgment to come. After all, His coming is a day of judgment for them. But Peter’s teaching is clear. Those who distort the truth of God’s Word do so to their own destruction (3:16; see also 2:1, 3, 9-13, 20-22; 3:7).

The End of all Things is Near ?

The End of all Things is Near ?

Are we truly in the end times? Some might disagree. Some even claim these signs have been going on for over 2000 years. Even the Apostles proclaimed that they were living in the end days. And do you recall what a day is to God. Well i recall it being said a day is a thousand years. Remember Adam ? didn't The Lord tell Adam and eve that the day they ate of the fruit they would die that very day? Yet Adam lived almost a thousand years.  So did Adam die that day ? Yes he did as i said before a day is a thousand years to God. So are we living in the end days? Yes we are. Their our many who mock and laugh just as they did in Noah's day. The signs they see are signs we have all seen for thousands of years. But due to their being blind they cant see the other signs around them. Only those who have held fast to Gods will can actually see the signs of Armageddon aproching. Those who have eyes to see Will See. Those who have Ears To Hear will Hear!! Only these will be ready for Our Lord to Return!!!. He told us to have oil for our lanterns for the bridegroom cometh. He also said He would come as a thief in the night. No one would know when he was to come. Thats why Brothers and Sisters that we must be ready at all times.

The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. (1 Peter 4:7) In the last days, God says, I will pour out my spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. (Acts 2:17)I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. (Luke 17:34) For many will come in my name, claiming, "I am he," and, 'The time is near." Do not follow them. (Luke 21:8)When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away. (Luke 21:9) Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. (Luke 21:10) There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven. (Luke 21:11) But before all this, they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name. (Luke 21:12)You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. (Luke 21:16) But not a hair on your head will perish. (Luke 21:18)By standing firm you will gain life. (Luke 21:19)

When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. (Luke 21:20)
Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. (Luke 21:24)
On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. (Luke 21:25)
There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. (Luke 21:25)
Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. (Luke 21:26)When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near. (Luke 21:28)
When you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near. (Luke 21:31)
I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God come with power. (Mark 9:1)
No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. (Matthew 26:34)

The Fruits of the Spirit

Every healthy tree bears good fruit , but the sickly tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad treebear excellent fruit [worthy of admiration]... Therefore, you will fully know them by their fruits.- Matthew 7:17-20 Jesus told His disciples that you can tell if someone truly belongs to Him by the kind of spiritual fruit that they produce. What does that mean? When you surrender your life to Jesus, your salvation is not free. It's bought with a very high price. The crucification and death of Christ. You may sometimes ask yourself why God thinks you're worthy of that sacrifice? Despite all of your attempts at perfection, you constantly miss the mark. Surely trading Jesus' excellence for your mediocrity could not have been the best choice. But Your Heavenly Father has a very special kind of love towards you. He longs for you to be able to bask in His presence. And, once He finally gets you - You're Marked. Now, the changes don't happen over night. They're gradual. You may not notice them over days and weeks. Or even after several months. But, you are God's work in progress - Not your own. Everything that you do. Every thing that you say. You begin to look more like Jesus. Have You Been Marked by the Spirit of God? Here are the 9 Signs to Check For: Love Joy Peace Patient Endurance Kindness Goodness Faith and Faithfulness Gentleness Self-Discipline (Galatians 5:22-23)When i first became a Christian i had very few of these qualities. But as time went on these qualities began to build in me and still they are building. I made many mistakes when i first turned my life over to Christ. In doing so i hurt many people. I tried to shove things down their throats, I argued the Scripture with them, I was judgmental and often got very angry with them. So i to learned that the fruits of the spirit dont happen over night. Its a slow process and God is very patient with us as He has been with me as im on a learning journey with Him. You cant change overnight and we as Christians must exercise the same patience as God does with our new brothers and Sisters. We should never turn our backs on them for any reason. We are here to teach not run away just because things get heated. Remember Gods love for us and That He Sent His ONLY BEGOTTEN SON for us. Now who can compare with that sacrifice. We are to lay down our pride to help others and if needed we should lay down our lives for our fellow man. Show love to all men and women. Thats what God is All loving Kind Merciful. So as humans we are to act accordingly. This is what God Almighty requires of us.

What did Jesus mean when he said In the last days it would be likened to the days of Noah.

What did Jesus mean when he said In the last days it would be likened to the days of Noah. Well back in Noah's days God looked down on to the earth with great sadness. Men had become an abomination in Gods eyes. But there was one man on the Earth that God saw as righteous above all others. This was Noah The most righteous of all men. Now in these days men were doing evil all over the earth and even the Angels themselves had come down to the earth and laid with the women creating a race of giants they were a cruel race and dominated men. The men and women of earth at that time were sinful in many ways Homosexuality fornication adultery and idolatry they committed sins against God. So God grew angry with man and decided to destroy him with a flood. He told Noah to build an Ark which at this time rain was rare so im sure even Noah was a bit surprised that God had him do such a task But Noah being a true man of The Lord did as God asked. And im sure just like today they scoffed and mocked and laughed even persecuted Noah. These men and women told Noah he was insane to do this task and laughed at him. Well as most of you know the ark was built and men still carried on with their evil ways Noah urged them to come aboard but to no avail. They mocked and laughed just as the people of today do. Then it began to rain It rained as it had never rained before. The doors of the ark were shut and the people of earth were now fearful of their lives. But just like it will be soon when Jesus returns they will have no more chances. So the evil men of earth were destroyed. As will they be very soon by the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ. I send you this warning unbelievers. Turn you lives around Wash yourselves in the Blood of Christ. Give yourselves to The Almighty and save your souls from damnation. The doors to the ark were closed and soon the doors to salvation will also be closed. Dont wait till its to late Repent and be saved by our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
